Registration Details

The registration deadline is Monday, October 8, 2018. Advance registration is required. Registration fees include a certificate. Registered participants will receive an email the week of the conference with parking information and other details about the conference.

Fees & Payment

  • No charge for GHS students, residents, fellows, emeritus
  • Afternoon Session – $25 Gundersen and affiliate psychologists, therapists, social workers and other providers
  • Afternoon Session – $50 Non-Gundersen psychologists, therapists, social workers and other providers or community members

Intended Audience: Psychologists, therapists, social workers and other behavioral health professionals. Intermediate to advanced level of instruction is appropriate for each session.

Accreditation: Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center Inc., provider #1089, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center Inc. maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 11/14/2015 – 11/14/2018. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.

Certificates: Certificates will be emailed to attendees within four weeks of completion of the on-line evaluation.

Session 2 – Personality Disorders: Management in a Community Setting

The workshop will focus on the following topics:

  • Attachment and attachment patterns - the agendas of the personality disorders
  • Borderline, antisocial, and narcissistic personality
  • Transference, boundary and safety issues
  • Treatment, management, medication and modest goals

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe the primary agendas of borderline, antisocial and narcissistic personality.
  • Identify ways of dealing with suicide risk in borderline personality.
  • Discuss the common boundary traps that occur with these three disorders.
  • Identify the most recent evidence-based care for these disorders.

This session is approved for 2 CE/clock hours through your choice of APA or ASWB sponsorship. You must attend the full two-hour session and complete the evaluation to receive credit. Partial credit is not available for this conference.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be requested via email or phone prior to October 8, 2018. A refund minus a $25 administration fee will be issued. No refunds will be made after October 8, 2018.

If the 2018 Behavioral Medicine Conference is postponed or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of registration fees will be provided. Gundersen Medical Foundation Inc. will not be responsible for any related travel costs to the conference.
