Pine Ridge Partners

The work of Global Partners-Pine Ridge is supported by many local organizations, as well as partners in Pine Rige.

Local Partnerships

  • Scenic Rivers Area Health Education Center (AHEC): co-organizer (with the WARM program) of the Native Students Health Careers Camp; established a nursing education relationship between Southwest College in Fennimore, WI, and the Oglala Lakota College School of Nursing
  • The School District of La Crosse, Health Science Academy (HSA): initiated a school-to-school relationship with several schools on Pine Ridge Reservation, and send teams of HSA students twice each year to teach a "Healthy Heart" unit and provide other interactive education with middle schools students
  • University of Wisconsin (UW)-La Crosse: Community Health Education team conducted community needs and capacity assessment
  • Western Technical College: collected packets of seeds in support of the Lakota Farmer/Rancher program; configured laptops and developed training manuals for Oyate Teca Youth Center
  • The Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine (WARM) program: co-organizer (with Scenic Rivers AHEC) of the Native Students Health Careers Camp
