What we stand for...
Gundersen Medical Foundation enhances and supports quality healthcare by emphasizing medical education, health and wellness education, as well as research and community health outreach.
We are committed to improving the health of individuals and families, and we’ve been doing just that for over 60 years. An environment permeated by education, research, and technology, all to enhance patient care, makes Gundersen’s healthcare a source of pride.
Each year we receive thousands of gifts in support of our programs. With these funds, Gundersen Medical Foundation continues to offer innovative programs and project assistance to researchers, medical professionals, and dedicated teachers. With Foundation support, patients are cared for, medicine is taught, and healthy living is encouraged at Gundersen.
Making advanced treatments available for cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, and more, while finding patterns and practices to improve care.
Research is an important part of medicine – it’s all about providing the best, most advanced care for our patients. Hundreds of physicians, nurses, and staff are conducting research related to their practices.
Every day we are searching for new ideas, carefully verifying new facts, and testing old beliefs. The challenging environment of a research facility allows us to bring leading-edge medical knowledge and technology to the Tri-state Region.
Fostering a culture that attracts professionals who are committed to excellence in skills and practice. Education stimulates a desire to learn for one’s entire professional career…and beyond.
At Gundersen Medical Foundation, we believe learning and teaching go hand-in-hand in the continuous improvement of patient care. Our physicians, nurses, therapists, and other health professionals all serve as teachers – sharing their expertise with resident and student doctors, student nurses, paramedics, and others.
We view teaching as a valuable opportunity to influence the next generation of physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
Serving as the bridge between the community and the healthcare system, working with both to identify and address real needs.
Long-standing relationships with area nonprofit and social services agencies keep the Foundation closely attuned when it comes to effectively meeting community health concerns.
Foundation grants focus on social or health-related issues. Priority areas are physical fitness, smoking cessation, obesity, nutrition, and women and children’s healthcare concerns.
In addition, our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® provides support to families with children who have special healthcare needs.
