Garith Steiner leads Gundersen Critical Access Hospitals
Administrative Vice President, Critical Access Hospitals
A well-known healthcare administrator in our area has a new role to lead Gundersen Health System's Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs).
Garith Steiner, RN, signed on as administrative vice president for the CAHs earlier this year after serving as interim chief executive officer of Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics.
"Rural communities and rural healthcare are close to my heart," Garith says. "This role allows me to build on this experience to develop and nurture community partnerships and be a resource and leader for those at our great Critical Access Hospitals."
Garith retired in 2012 after 24 years as CEO of Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua, an organization he joined immediately after being among Luther College's second class of nursing graduates in 1979. Garith joined Gundersen St. Joseph's in July 2016 when Deb Smith retired.
Garith and Marilu Bintz, MD, MBA, Gundersen senior vice president, Population Health and Strategy, will oversee Gundersen St. Joseph's Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics; Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics; Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital and Clinics; and Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics.
