Receiving an MRI close to home will now be more convenient for patients who live in or near Onalaska. Gundersen Health System began offering on-site MRI services with its mobile unit at the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic in October.
"We're excited to add MRI to our growing list of services offered in Onalaska. Both our patients and clinicians will benefit by having this advanced imaging technology available on our Onalaska campus," says Dan Coenen, BS, RT (R)(CT), clinical manager of Regional Imaging.
MRI in Onalaska will be used for imaging studies of the head, brain, spine, shoulders and knees.
"The mobile MRI unit encompasses the newest technology in a mobile format to enhance patient care closer to home and reduce appointment waiting time. Our choice of mobile MRI unit assures similar image quality without having to commute downtown—same excellent service, now closer to home!" states Gabriela Dumitran, MD, chief of the MRI section at Gundersen.
To refer a patient for MRI, contact Imaging Services via MedLink at (800) 336-5465. In La Crosse, call (608) 775-5465. Patients will check in for MRI on the Lower Level of the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic in Sports Medicine.
In addition to MRI, patients can also receive CT, mammography (screening and diagnostic), bone densitometry, ultrasound and diagnostic X-ray at the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic.
