ROUTINES: AP, Lateral & Oblique.
FOCAL SPOT: Small
IMAGING PLATE: CR 10x12 cassettes.
CENTRAL RAY: Perpendicular to the scapula.
- AP: Pt is supine or upright; arm is extended out from body & up at a right angle to bring the scapula away from the ribs.
- Oblique: Turn the affected side up or away from the film. Place the arm up & across the forehead. Use a shallow 5° oblique.
- Lateral: Oblique injured side away from the table or film until scapula is in the lateral plane (approximately 45°). Place arm across forehead to rotate scapula away from the rib cage.
