Milan E. Folkers, MD

This MD is one of the very best I have ever had for my care. He knew the details of my past medical history and how my past medical history affected my current care. I have already recommended him to several of my friends.

Previously, I credited Dr. Folkers for saving my life when he recognized that my pancreas was in a pre-cancerous state and needed to be surgically removed. Not just that, but for many other reasons Dr. Folkers with his wonderful attention to my medical needs and winning personality make him my favorite doctor at Gundersen, and I see many others who are very good too. But none do a better, more thorough job than Dr. Folkers. Hang onto him. He is a treasure!!!

I am grateful to Dr. Folkers. He always listens, and I can see him trying to understand what is causing my issues. I am getting better, and I totally appreciate that!

The medical assistant was very good and Dr. Folkers was very good. One thing gastroenterology needs to do is make sure that or get their calendar up more than three months in advance. He wants to see me in six months, but the calendar is never up. So then when I get a letter to make an appointment, then it's hard for me to get in to see him. So it's been very frustrating for me to get in to see Dr. Folkers. So I sure wish they would build the calendar much sooner so that they're at least six months out every time I come in to, I have to see him. So get that sorted out. That'd be great. Thank you. Bye.

My experience with Gundersen as a whole has been excellent!

A good experience

Post appointment follow up scheduling for an ultrasound took over 15 minutes for the staff to even answer the phone. In general, this indicates a downgrade in customer service. I am hearing more rumblings in the community that Gundersens customer service is degrading. I would suggest you quickly fix these issues so general reputation doesn't degrade further. The staff at Gastro did an excellent job and handled things effectively. Thank You

Dr Folkers has been managing my ulcerative colitis for 13 years and I couldn't be happier with his care. He always reminds me to reach out (MyChart) immediately if I feel a flare-up coming on and he will respond immediately.

Dr. Folkers is excellent at explaining my condition, the methods we can use to monitor it, the benefits and detriments of each treatment modality and what I should watch for as I track my own symptoms. I have already told a number of people about how skilled, knowledgeable and relatable he is.
