Personal Interests

Laura grew up on the eastern side of South Dakota in a town of about 8,000 people. She is interested in caring for patients with a breadth of surgical presentations from health screening, from elective procedures to providing care in emergency surgery cases. Laura chose Gundersen for broad-based training to learn all aspects of surgical care ─from patient work-up, through the procedure, and post-operative follow up, along with critically ill or injured patients. Laura plans to put her training into practice in a rural setting. She is also excited about working with residents who love being together both in house and out. Laura enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and their mastiff in the beautiful Driftless Region, fishing, hiking, enjoying good food, chasing rabbits and sniffing all of the trees (ok that's mostly the dog).
