I was able to get an appt the same day and Dr. Swanson was thorough, professional and kind.

Couldn't get in to see primary so went to available provider. He had seen her a few months prior for similar issue but wasn't aware until I reminded him. Then as usual with Gundersen was told just follow up with primary provider at next visit. He did order labs which were out of range and then notes he made are not available in mychart so I called his nurse and she read them to me but was unable to answer any questions I had. Such as he said to give her a Vitamin D supplement but when I asked is there a special one such as D3 or such she said she didn't know. When I asked about the low WBC from the lab she said he didn't make a note so isn't an issue. I asked if I could call back after 2 when I got of work and was told they are done at 12:30 but someone else can read the notes to me. When I went to mychart it's documented that I called but no notes or feed back regarding our conversation. So now I feel like I have to start over and that visit was full of unanswered questions and pointless.

Great response time

Wasn't able to see my doctor, whom I trust completely, so saw different one that probably wasn't that familiar with me.

I was unable to see my regular provider but needed to get in as soon as possible. Dr. Swanson had an opening so was able to get in and discuss my medical problem. Appreciated that he was willing to squeeze me in.

I really appreciated that they took the time to call me and follow up about my appointment in calmar and make sure I got all the documentation I needed for my program of study.

Dr. Swanson is AMAZING!! He is always willing to listen and I never feel rushed! He helps me understand things when no one else has been able to because he is "down to earth". I appreciate him, and trust him completely!

Absolutely exceptional care

My wife and I have always had excellent care and received courteous attention at Gundersen Clinic in Decorah. They are always attentive and helpful.

I was pleased that they were able to schedule me in for problem.

I was concerned with my stomach and wanted him to feel it but didn't push it. I feel like I have a hard mass there, but he didn't seem to concerned about it , so I let it go. I just wish he would have examined me better. I just don't feel like I get my money's worth for these wellness checks anymore.

The doctor spent very little time with me. The appointment with the doctor himself was no longer that 10 minutes. He only looked at the injury visually and not physically.

This was my first time doing my annual medicare physical with Dr. Swanson. I had always done these at Mayo Clinic in Rochester but was told to do it with my local provider. It was a good experience, the dr took time with me.

It can be difficult in reaching someone about setting up an appointment. After waiting and listening to the menu options several times, I chose to speak to the nurse hotline, eventually I was transferred to the clinic to set an appointment.
