Going to Vernon Memorial Hospital is so much better then Gundersen in La Crosse , Onalaska. The employees seem so much more relaxed and happy. They have smiles on their faces. You go to La Crosse , Onalaska and you see some smiles but not like at VMH. I had 4 appointments and every receptionist and Dr., professional was very pleasant, listened to my questions, help me where they could, Etc. I have already recommended people I talk to, to go to VMH.

Had 5 appointments in 1 day reworked scheduling while i was there and was finished with all before my last appointment was scheduled to begin and even had time for Lunch ! Thank You.

All personnel that I made contact with made me feel confident that I was getting the medical treatment needed and comfortable during said treatment.

I had to have an EKG, when I went to the lab , one gal was leaving and I overheard her say to the other gal, do you know how to do an EKG. She replied she didnt do a whole lot of them, that made me nervous. When it came time, I had to show her how to turn to machine on to bring my name up. I do EKGS at my job and I felt placement was way off. Hope reading came out ok.

Candace is awesome, and I wish she could be my provider full time, since my doctor is leaving, but she can't. My husband has also lost his doctor. We have had to resort to returning to the VA for routine medical care, but we still have to have a civilian provider for annual Medicare physicals. If the wait time to see your provider is MONTHS long, you might as well have no healthcare at all. Having to go to the ER or evening urgent care is NOT satisfactory, since you never know which doctor or nurse you will see. I realize this is the "new norm", but that doesn't mean we patients out here like it. We feel abandoned by the medical system, and that we might as well just go off and die. Guess that's the goverment's goal, especially for older patients.

Very professional and small town friendly

This was a day of multiple appointments with various departments. The scheduling went smoothly. If one appointment finished early, the next appointment started early. All my questions were answered.

Registration staff was excellent. Medical Assistant was good. Provider Hoff was unprofessional in attitude and didn't seem to listen to what I had to say. I would not recommend her. I was able to change the provider who is going to do my upcoming exam so as to not have to have this provider again.

We had a good discussion regarding new information of upcoming treatments, plus she has a great sense of humor! I was very comfortable with this provider and my visit was informative and pleasant.
