Overbite or Underbite
An overbite (where the top teeth extend beyond the bottom) or an underbite (with the bottom teeth extended) is a common disorder that is often treated with braces. In severe cases however, a patient can benefit from having their jaw adjusted surgically, in conjunction with the braces.
Oral surgeons and prosthodontists work together to ensure patients with missing teeth have a healthy smile again. While dentures or a bridge is still an option, many patients prefer dental implants. The surgeon places the implant into the bone, and then once it's healed, the prosthodontist creates the teeth that will attach to the implant.
