Adult Unit

Gundersen partners with local mental health professionals, law enforcement and community members on initiatives that help those with mental illness and those directly impacted by a loved one’s struggles with mental illness. Some of those initiatives include:

  • Mental Health Coalition of the Greater La Crosse Area: Community-centered group committed to improving the quality of life for people and families dealing with mental illness.
  • Crisis Intervention Training: Comprehensive training for law enforcement to help identify the signs and symptoms of mental illness.
  • La Crosse Suicide Prevention Initiative: Annual summit held to educate and train community members on suicide and suicide prevention.
  • Healthiest County 2015: Goal to make La Crosse County the healthiest in Wisconsin by 2015 includes mental health initiatives.
