Gundersen Lutheran – Sparta Clinic named a Bicycle Friendly Business
The League of American Bicyclists recently recognized the Gundersen Lutheran – Sparta Clinic with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award for its role in pedaling America toward greater prosperity.
With the announcement of 71 new Bicycle Friendly Businesses in 27 states, Gundersen Lutheran – Sparta Clinic joins a visionary group of close to 500 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming the American workplace.
“Businesses may be the engine of our economy, but more and more are realizing that the bicycle can be a powerful catalyst for increased profits, reduced health care costs, happier employees and more customers,” said Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists. “Companies large and small are voting for a more bicycling-friendly America and making significant contributions to our economic growth by promoting healthy, sustainable transportation.”
Located in the Bicycle Capital of America, the Gundersen Lutheran –Sparta Clinic recognizes the importance of biking to the community and how biking can help improve your health. They encourage staff to bike to work and patients to bike to appointments by having bicycle racks available. They also participate in Bike to Work Week activities and Walk, Ride, Share for Cleaner Air employee challenge.
